Recently, I took on the huge task of filling Evan Sutton’s shoes as NOI’s Communications Director. In trying to wrap my head around all he did at NOI, I’ve been looking for new ways to track NOI’s presence in the media.

Which has been difficult since Google alerts have become less and less reliable and returned fewer and fewer results.

That’s why I use TalkWalker. TalkWalker Alerts are a free service just like Google Alerts, but TalkWalker offers even more great features. If you’d like to dig in deeper on your organization’s online presence, there are plenty of tools to help you do that.

To set up these alerts, here are the steps to get started:

  • Go to and click on alerts
  • Enter your search query, like “New Organizing Institute”
  • Choose your language(s) and whether you want all content or just news, blogs etc.
  • Choose how often you want to receive your alerts, daily or weekly
  • Enter your email address
  • Voilá!

Now sit back and enjoy staying on top of all the news you need. In addition to news alerts, TalkWalker is also a great service to monitor and analyze your web presence. You can track social media posts and utilize TalkWalker’s easy-to-use graphics.

So ditch those Google Alerts today and stay on top of your news with TalkWalker.
